Hardtechno is a genre that has gained a lot of popularity in recent years, becoming one of the most intense and energetic branches of techno. But its history goes back decades, when a group of artists and producers decided to take the beats to a new level of speed, aggressiveness and forcefulness.
The Origins of Hardtechno
To understand hardtechno, one must first look at the original techno, which emerged in Detroit in the 1980s with artists such as Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson. However, in parallel, a harder, industrial sound was developing in Europe, influenced by rave culture and hardcore.
It was in Germany and other European countries that techno began to speed up and become more aggressive. With the arrival of the 90s, subgenres such as Schranz were created, a mechanical, repetitive and forceful sound that laid the foundations for what we know today as Hardtechno.

It has also found a big space at major festivals and underground events across Europe, where high BPM and distorted drums dominate the dancefloor.
